Kerio... any rules based basic packet filter not preconfigured with implicit rules...
But I still run a few backup rules. Firewalls generally aren't rendered any heavier or lighter on resources by having limited rulesets, at least as a rule. Kerio 2.x, for example, one of the lightest weight of all mainstream firewalls, weighs in at about 5.2m peak memory with no rules but the initial defaults, and around 5.2 megs with my somewhat large ruleset... and consumes virtually no processor time at all on a modern P3 or 4 processor...
However, if what you really want's just outbound annd roll your own ruleset, then any completely rules based basic packet filter, like Kerio 2.1.5, is what you would probably be most comfortable with... -- Seagullsickle! Pelican-bonbon! Albatross! |
