Forum Posting Rules & Guidelines:

Your cooperation is both expected and appreciated.

FIRST THINGS FIRST!

Before starting a new thread, please search the forum for the subject prior to posting. This forum can be rather busy and there is a chance your topic has been discussed before and your question has already been answered.

The search box is located in the upper right hand corner of each forums home page header. Enter one or more keywords related to your issue. For example, if you were seeking help on accessing e-mail via the web, try 'webmail'. For more specific help, try adding your city or state, and so on. You will be presented with a results page with additional options to expand your search.

•As with every aspect of this site the Rules on Posting and Terms of Use both apply here and will be enforced as necessary.

•This is a public forum where many people come for help with and to voice their opinions about Charter HSI and CATV. You have a right to voice your complaints regarding the services or policies in a responsible manner. However, this is not a place for you to rant about your ISP, the support or the lack of support received. Realize that no ISP is perfect and things can and do go wrong. Don't just complain about your problem. Explain the problem providing as much detail accurately as possible. State what speed package are you are signed up for. What manufacturer and model of modem are you using. Are you using a router? Are you using a Firewall? What State and / or market area are you in? You should also provide any information regarding any action you’ve already taken to remedy the situation, and ask for assistance.

•Don't bash tech support, then expect on of the techs in the forum to assist you. Posting in a friendly responsible manner will increase the chances of others attempting to help you find a solution whenever that is possible.

•If you simply must rant, please do so in the Rants Raves and Praise forum, but please read this first.

•Posts with no substance i.e. "Charter Sucks" will be deleted.

•Two other links you may find helpful regarding your posting are What about censorship? and You can't tell me what I can or can't say!

•One topic, one thread please. Posts that "Hijack" thread by going off topic are subject to movement or deletion.

•Keep it clean and friendly. In other words watch your language. There is no need for profanity, if you can't post politely and intelligently, don't post. Failure to do so may result in the editing, or deletion of your post(s).

•Interpretation and enforcement of these rules and guidelines is at the discretion of to the moderators of this forum. Please direct any questions about the rules and guidelines, or anything related to the forum to the mods, we will answer as best we can as time permits.

•If you have any issue with forum moderation, please do not raise your gripe in the public forums. Do not pursue a moderator via instant message or email. To the best of their ability they follow guidelines but are not robots, and they are all volunteers (or they are volunteered). An excerpt from WHAT ARE THE RULES ON POSTING? If you have issues with site moderation, please take it up only as mentioned here. You ruin any chance for a hearing by seeking explanations any other way.

•This forum is not an official support outlet for Charter and while we're not here to enforce any ISP's policies, we are here to try to help make sure that accurate information gets to the members. Where we know for a fact information to be intentionally misleading or outright wrong, then our charter says do something about it. We do take action when illegal actions are suggested or recommended and will take action if any info provided could lead a customers service being terminated, this includes posts asking or advising how to circumvent the Charter ToS/AUP.

Do not think that having any Charter employee presence here gives any sway on how this forum or site is run: all we promise the Charter Techs is a "level playing field". BBR is customer oriented and membership driven - we won't edit or remove factual and responsibly stated negative comments regarding Charter service (however, we will take a dim view here, as we do in other forums, of provider bashing just for provider bashings sake).

From time to time these reps may need to get more "personal" information such as IP or MAC addresses from you to assist with your specific problem. Do not post such information openly in the forum - provide it directly to the Tech via Instant Message (or email if address if available) and understand that you provide this information at your own risk.

•Please do not use/choose the [Techs] option for posting unless you are a Charter Tech. Thanks.
