Web Washer Mem Usage - Win2k

While running simultaneously:

Cookie Wall (soon coming off)
InnoculateIT PE
BigFix
PGP
ZAP
Web Washer
ICQ (still needs to come off)
AVG
IE
OE

wwasher.exe shows 3,808 K mem usage
zapro.exe shows 3,708 K mem usage
bigfix.exe 4,656 K mem usage

So if these numbers mean anything, WW relatively speaking has a small footprint.

I took BigFix out of my start menu. I just run in once every week or two to check for updates. I ran it 10 days ago and again just now. There were only two "fixlets" and both were minor. I see no need to run it continuously.

Tup, that is an excellent point and one I didn't consider. Thumbs up.

That is a good point tup, and one I never thought to mention.
I've been using BigFix for a while now and never run it at start up.
I have a reminder set to check it once a week and that works great for me.

Good point, but what about situations when everyone is hit with a virus and BigFix has the update TODAY?

I don't think the memory utilization is worth it for me to take off. I will leave it on and let it work it's wonders. It WILL be one of the first to come off if my resources start taking a hit.

You offer another valid point. If one has the resources to run it, and one wants to run it... then that is a good thing.

Yes, but since I read DSLReports everyday, I usually am informed of a new problem (such as the new MS patch today) and I update InoculateIT very frequently so I don't worry too much about the problem you mentioned.
