Some of us are using DNS servers from SBC or other ISPs. It is kinda stupid but at least this way you don't need to give up the great DL/UL speed just because of DNS issue.

Also did you try pinging all of the DNS servers below and use those with shortest ping?

I've been having random DNS timeouts also. This is extermely annoying. I called Cyberonic twice in the last 2 weeks about this and they had me change DNS numbers each time. The last recommendation was to use the Sacramento DNS server (I'm in LA) which seems to have helped. But if this problem keeps coming back then "I'm outta here".

my dns servers:

198.6.1.146 (sacramento)
198.6.100.25
