If it happens tonight, I'll be on the phone to RR tier three. They typically try to debug the client end (you and me) before going upstream to look for a fubared router. As I see here, I'm not the only one in the Sugar Land area with this issue. My bet... fubared router upstream. And I can even give them the hop and ip address.

This is day 2 of some nasty packet loss. Called RR last night and it only took me about an hour to convince the rep that there was actually packet loss. She was accusing me of starting my firewall and turning it off while she was trying to ping me. So it was escalated, but didn't get fixed today. Hopefully tomorrow, as this is screwing with my VOIP too.

I gave up on VOIP on RR here in houston.. big time packet loss for me. oh well i took sbhell back as my phone service

You guys have it good compared to me(h=town dude). I have been having high pings(100ms-3000ms) and packet loss and stupid time warner keeps sending people to my house and all they say is the signal looks good yet i'm getting 30% loss and 800ms pings. I swear if this isn't fixed by xmas it's back to sbc for me. One dude actually did more than just check my line, he checked all the taps till he found the problem and it was at the local hub! They didn't even know it went down so they fix it. Once it was fixed the guy told me there was a lot of noise in the line but i will be cleared up. There is still plenty of noise and the local office keeps saying that they are sending someone to fix it but my connection has never been fixed. Just because there isn't a lot of people in this area that have cable internet they are taking their sweet time fixing it.

well Papillon. Having same problem here. Been good for some time. Love how you pay for business class service and pings are terrible.

When I called Tier 3 support, they tried to tell me the entire internet is having problems. Funny how all my contacts in other cities are having no problems?

You pay for business class service and expect a better response then "Then entire internet is this way". Who are they fooling?

First thing tomorrow I make a verbal complaint with the Tier three supervisor. If that doesn't work, then I'll take it to Cleon Smith!

I do hope they find the problem. I have alerted RR tier 3 for the past month that there was an issue.
