Azle, TX Earthlink DSL?

Just ran a check for the heck of it on DSL prequal here at dslreports and for once it actually said "YEP!, your CO is wired for DSL from one or more DSL networks. I'm SHOCKED!
But as usual Unfortunately, no distance estimate was returned, so availability shown below may be limited if you live more than 12000 feet from the CO.
Going by telephone lines I should be well within the 12000 feet marker, I'm sure of that.

Went to Earthlinks site and filled out the prequal form. It basically states they will contact me when DSL is available in my area :|

And I got all excited Charter needs to hurry up...

Earthlink uses Covad for almost all DSL circuits. If you want, send me your info, and I can go into the Covad system, and let you know what it says.

No go with Covad circuits in Azle, and this site still shows the CO as "red" »/coinfo/clli/AZLETXXA/

the cable company and the phone company have been saying you can either get broadband now, or within the next few months in azle for years.

i honestly think a lot of their motive is to keep you from investing in wireless or satellite before they do finally get out here. they don't seem to care if it means you spend another year or two on dial-up... as long as they get your money in te long run.

Last I talked with Charter they stated that Cable internet access should be available by the start or end of December.
They already have some nodes setup in Azle, I don't have physical knowledge of this, just from what Stan Gunn told me (Charter tech that visits the Dslreports Charter Forums and has a Texas Charter Support Board).

Now, if Charter is not in my area by the end of December, have no idea why my area would be so late since I'm right next to a HUGE community and the High School, then I am looking to go back to wireless with Wiacomm Ronnie, thats if they have upgraded their hardware to support gamers as myself.

i know Charter did just get running on the other side of the lake, in the lake country area.. so they are still progressing. They could probably be a little more conservative in their time estimates

as far as a Wiacomm equipment upgrade... we are working on something that we hope to have running by the end of the year, but it will not be in the same location, and i am not sure whether or not it will reach your house. I should know a little more on this in the next few weeks.

Hopefully you will be able to get online one way or another next month

Question...
»/coinfo
This shows the CO in parker county. I live in Azle but am in Tarrant county side.
Could this pose problems for DSL coming to our area?
And why would it show my CO is wired for DSL now if there are no DSL options?
»/prequal_watch···D2qfHgCx
It has never showed this in the past 3 years, why now?

My guess is this site (DSLreports.com) doesn't have all the CO info, 100% correct. I know some CO, will be red on this site, but really do have DSL, either that just got installed, or by a small telco.

The CO code I listed above, is the co your phone service is out of. That was confirmed when I ran your info in the Covad system.

Why does this site show you can get service? That I'm not sure. The CO info here, I think is just a general guide, and you can not just go by it alone.

Thanks!

Thanks, Brent. I got a call this morning from a lady looking for service who will be moving to Azle early in December. Probably your friend. Word-of-mouth is great!
