Guys,
Recently my DSL has been disconnecting every 15 minutes, on average. I hear it in my sleep; it wakes me up (computer off). Today I checked the ADSL status, and it had reconnected 104 times in 25 hours.
Filters on/off/partial doesn't change anything. I just tried to spoof the MAC address to the address listed on the back...I have a feeling it might be using the same one as everyone who has flashed their modem.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'll post later on whether or not the MAC spoof helped. Meantime, this is very annoying! |

| Hmm...I thought you guys would have had input into this problem already.
Well, I had a Qwest guy in my house, and he was connected on his test tool for over 40 minutes without a problem. So what we're thinking is my modem overheated, which damaged the modem. When the modem gets so many errors, it will automatically reset itself, which would explain the consistency.
I DID notice the modem got really warm at one time, but I don't remember if it was right around the time it stopped working or not.
SO...this may or may not be the problem, but watch out for your DSL1000 overheating! Apparently it's a known issue. It already disconnected once, but since then it's been up for 35 minutes...so I'm not sure.
