There is a built in firewall on the 678s. The difference is that you can configure the 678 firewall.

Any 678 will do, just update it with the most current firmware via the cisco site and you're good to go.

Another option that is much more economical would be to buy a MSN1000 and flash it with SMC7401BRA firmware.

  I called MSN tech support and that is the modem they recommended for online gaming, bittorrent, etc., b/c there is supposively no built in firewall. Can anybody confirm this? Also do ALL Cisco 678's work for this? I've seen things like (revision A0) on eBay. Just want to be sure I buy the right one.
