I like the new changes, but topics I choose not to follow are still showing up in my Favs View. Is it supposed to work like this, and if so how do I stop it from doing so without the ignore feature? -- htmlartist@homelinux:~$ | deviantART |

| your fav forum view shows forum action (new topics, and updated, but previously read, topics).
A proper ignore topic feature might come later, depends how these changes bed down. The old ignore topic feature was a major hack, among other things, memory of ignored topics was temporary. |

| It seems that no matter what changes this site goes through, there will be always disgruntled members, who are used to the ways things looked before. I'm one of the disgruntled ones.
I don't know if it's technically possible, but it would be great if all the changes were voluntary, i.e. if a user could choose if he wants the new icon set, new forum page layout, etc. Kind of like themes - you like it, choose it, not - let it stay the way it used to be.
I understand that major changes in forum features sometimes are not just a visual overhaul, but a new system of tracking things. But why not let users choose, say, how forum lists look like? -- Life's a bitch. And it's got puppies. |

something like a "lite", "normal", and "enhanced" version would be nice. or make everything user configurable -- My blog | DSLR chatbox |

| reply to Dubon Nice idea, but technically unfeasible. It is hard enough even to offer themes.
GIFs, for example, look best when you know what the background color is going to be (light or dark). A complete theme would substitute all GIFs as well. And fonts. And font sizes. And layouts.
And anyway, it is a LOT easier keeping basically one site look and feel working properly, than half a dozen, spanning the last three years of changes. |

| reply to justin Sorry if this was answered already, but I didn't see it. What is the dark blue background behind the first two topics here? And why does the second topic have no folder icons whatsoever?
Also, for a suggestion, could the second column (the one with the smileys and notepad symbols) possibly be removed at some point? It adds to the cluttered feeling in my opinion. -- Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? Pinky: I think so, Brain, but "Snowball for Windows"? |

| reply to Zupe the extension of the border color hi-lites stickies.
The second one has no folder probably because its super old, or something like that. I'll check.
As for removing the 2nd column. Yeah right, that would cause a storm of protest. You go away and get concensus it should be removed and I'll remove it |

Count me in on that too... I never have figured out the meaning, or use, of those. Just a mite nearsighted, I suppose. -- Dan |

1 edit | reply to justin Is the loss of the "You posted here" icon an intentional one.
I see the icon is still present in the "Followed" screen but gone from the main forum views, which to me seems more useful for my browsing habits.

Cool... If you do make a new ignore topic feature, is there any way you'd consider making it possible to really "ignore" a thread, as in, you won't see it again when you go back the forum? justin Australian join:1999-05-28 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Kalford It was pointed out that the "posted here" icon is actually redundant. It is much the same as "followed" (the ribbon).
The 'posted here' icon is also another hack job. Go back to last month, it does not show for topics you posted in. |
