| Re: wow I don't mind getting e-mail advertisements from companies which don't forge the headers, because if I don't like their messages or their products I can simply filter out the IP address or e-mail address from which they are sent. No problem there. The "scam spammers", with their forged everything, are the problem, and they MUST be stopped. We, as Internet users, must be able to trust in the honesty of the system itself. I know that ISPs could go a long way toward helping if they would automatically check the IP of an incoming message against its header information, and stop all those with forged headers.
