I'm subscribed to Earthlink Cable through TW, and I got bumped up to 3mbps around the time the speed increase was reported here at BBR. No 512 upstream trials though. -- This lead apron will protect me from the gravity. |

| I haven't run into the limit, but this is funny because I grilled (Earthlink Cable via Time Warner) them extensively about whether there was an upper limit when they moved me from DSL. I told them they I had VOIP coming in and out and would be using the connection for commercial purposes. They said no problem. Perhaps I should be confirming this in writing. |

Perhaps you should.....something as important as your business relying on VOIP through the TW network, should be based on more than verbal promises.
It wouldn't take much for them to renig on your verbal arrangement and tell you one day that your service was terminated for excessive bandwidth usage against their TOS and then you'd be SOL if you had nothing in writing to back you up.... |

All TWC providers (Earthlink, RoadRunner, AOL and often a local ISP) will get the upgrade if TWC decides to upgrade. It looks like that the default TWC speed is going to be set to 3072 kbit/s down, and 512 kbit/s upstream somewhere in the near future. Of course the 3 Mbit/s downstream has already been implemented - just waiting on the 512 kbit/s upstream
And Brighthouse? TWC sold a few areas to Brighthouse a while back, and that means that now Brighthouse controls the speed of the modems. It does not look like Brighthouse is going to make any changes soon so those poor souls will have to stick with 2048/384 connections for now.... apperantly they are upgrading here and there though, just very, very slooowwww..... -- »www.deanforamerica.com - You have the power to make a change! Looks like Western Ohio may already be bumped up. -- WTB: A good .sig. Must be reliable, in good condition, and affordable. |
