How far back do you have to go before some mouse-overs with background color cause a problem? if you go TOO far back, then the browser doesn't support that anyway. A modern browser on an old machine will cope fine - probably takes more cpu to animate your avatar!
as for the font: yeah, ok so sue me, I changed the font priority on the navigation bar and the tabs. Arial is a narrower font than Verdana and suits navigation items.. |

In my opinion, the mouseover colors give a "laggy" feel. I am by far not on a slow computer but I can see some situations when using a public computer it might be annoying.
