| reply to dbuth Why did I not think of a simple search as you suggested. The .exe is an application on my system for an internet gaming program I use. For some reason is was misbehaving, twice. I will take it up with the support staff that put out the application.
For some reason it crashes when I use it and my SBC DSL, however it works fine with the SBC Dialup.
Thanks again,

The location might tell you something.
The file properties might also tell you something.
Also, you might want to check your event viewer for clues. |

| I was having problems with my PC, I am running XP Pro (all updates applied) with 512MB of Ram. My PC became real sluggish and would not multitask between IE 6.0 (all updates applied) and Outlook 2002 (all updates applied).
The service or application I saw running was mainclient.exe and using 99 percent of the processor. I had the United Devices client running and shut it down with no change. I closed all applications as well as all programs running in the task tray. The mainclient.exe was still running at 99 percent.
I found one listing on a Google search, »www.mastercsharp.com/article.asp···picID=11 which I do not understand. Re-starting the PC did nothing. I shut the PC down for one hour and then started it up, the mainclient.exe is now gone from the process list, and the UD client is running as normal.
Can anyone tell me what this is? -- Proud member of Team Discovery "A friend is a friend who knows everything about you and is still your friend." |
