| Cingular dialup internet (old internet)
Just got a new sony ericsson T62U triband (GSM/TDMA) phone from Cingular. I'm trying to figure out how to hook it up to my XP laptop to surf the web (CBS Market, DSLreports, Yahoo mail etc). My cellular subscription includes GPRS and dialup. I have the ericsson DCU11 USB cable and I've installed the driver software that came with it on my XP laptop. I'm trying to figure out how to get to the internet using Cingular's dialup (they call it the old internet) in addition to GPRS. Where I live I have GPRS available, where I work I only have the dialup. Does anyone use Cingular dialup with a laptop and if so, how do you connect to the internet? Can you use the laptop browser toolbar address to go to URLs or do you need to create bookmarks (or manually enter each URL) on the phone after connecting to the Cingular home page? I can connect to Cingular's WAP (using just the phone) via dialup or GPRS but really need a larger screen and more info than is available on the T62U. Sony ericsson's and Cingular manuals and websites don't really provide much info. |
