Alright, I've gone to the local office and switched modems. New modem is a Terayon TJ615 (I was hoping they had a Motorola or something). Seems to be working worthwhile, and it speeds that I was expecting are back to normal.
It appears that my friends were right, I did need a new modem.
Just having trouble getting and keeping an IP on it, but as long as I can stay connected until the tech gets here Monday everything is good to go.
This model has the internal page, which I like. |

Even though the techs are coming, if you still want to post your signal levels, feel free too. I was looking for a way to access your olds modem's info, but I couldn't find a thing. -- Adam...Uh, someone broke the internet again! |

Do you mean the modem loses sync, lights start flashing or are you losing the IP on the computer? |
