Re: What's your highest speed spike?

That is why I have 3 bandwith monitors running all the time. and use »nitro.ucsc.edu/ for the more accurate speed testing I have seen.

Hey Married, highest speed I have recorded for the 3000/256 tier was 3499/243.Since all speed tests are not created equal,I use several sites to check the speeds.Generally I found the closer the site the faster the speed. And speedtests are usually not very reliable.

Is this as high as it gets for the 3000/256 tier? Was the question I was asking. What does the 4000/512 package cost?

Geez, that's slow. Maybe you need to tweak your connection?

Oh... Being bad one day I hit like.. 10000/7500..
I've had fleeting thoughts of using the PC in the headend to speed test the GigE link to the backbone, but a few thousand customers and some engineers wouldn't like that...

why? Would it eat up all the bandwith for like 10-15 sec?

I wish they would try to track my download problem. Every time i call with my download speed around 600 they say. sorry but all of your tests are coming back fine except your speed test. Its getting lame. ever since i upgraded to the 4000/512 ive had nothing but problems.... so now im back on the 3mb/256 and still having probs... im about to go DSL.

This is my average speed (well, except for the late afternoon to early evenings the past week, they are trying to find the problem, they think it's either somebody with a virus, a p2p or a server), so yes, you can go faster

2003-12-05 19:50:48 EST: 4503 / 489
Your download speed : 4503694 bps, or 4503 kbps.
A 549.7 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 489476 bps, or 489 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Mine is 4057.8 kb/s

Anyone get faster, or is this as high as it is going to go?
