1 edit | [Cooling] Stock CPU fan in Dell Desktop any good??
I got a new Dell desktop for XMas(early) and found that it has a puller fan for the 2.8 GHz Intel CPU,but I'm concerned that it might not be enough to where I can install say a Coolmax 2 speed fan combined with the stock exhaust fan but without the tube leading to the CPU. I wanna keep it all as cool as possible Current temps coming from the fan is 91-92F.
Any comments,suggestions or recommendations?
BILL -- It's got a cop motor: a 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is this the new Bluesmobile, or what? |

| Generally speaking, stock fans arent as effective or efficient in cooling as after market fans are. That being said, I think however your stock Dell fan will be sufficient. I know that its *possible* to overclock your system with the use of software utlities, but I imagine that you will just be running your system at stock, correct?
If that is the case, then I wouldnt expect you to need any different cooling than what came with Dells.
Also, it might void your warranty if you mess around with the inside of their system. -- Click Me I'm Deviant!|Click Me I'm Live! |

| I did locate an extra case fan I wasn't using and fixed it up inside to blow air towards the CPU heatsink and memory strips from the air intake on the front of the Dell case,it may have dropped the temp maybe 6-7 degrees fahrenheit at the exhaust side.I did place side access panel back on. -- It's got a cop motor: a 440 cubic inch plant.
