Perhaps if you would become pingable the Tweak Tester could be a more accurate representation.
It's part of step one in case you over looked it.

No. I'm not mocking Jazzman....
Using his tweak and taking the tweak test I kept seeing retransmissions and sacks sent.
I'm using this now. (See the Jpeg)
No retranmissions or sacks sent. It has something to do with the window scaling and time stamping I'm sure. Since when I set those and used Jazzman's tweak the tweak test was fine.

My opinion is that your approach is boarding on not neccesarily questioning the ability of jazzman916 but attempting in a rather sarcastic way thumbing your nose at someone in the Tweak Forum that devotes many hours in assisting folks like yourself.
I read the part about...."This is just a fun question and isn't to serious"....so don't take my post wrong either. This is just a personal comment from someone who has always appreciated the work this Forum has dished out over the years I have been here. Hopefully jazzman916 will drop by and maybe he'll see a need to offer his comments of why he felt you would be better served with an RWIN of 64240

Scaling doesn't do anything with RWIN below 65536.
Timestamps are usually beneficial with very a large RWIN or very high latency.
Im with GeekNJ on this one. Use the lowest RWIN that alllows your speed.

The time stamping off is probably what fixed it and not the Windows scaling. |

I left window scaling on. And time stamping off. It fixed what was wrong with Jazzman's tweak. Would never have thought of that tweak.

Like I said, make it any number you want. Double what you have.
If there's no issues between you and the server it won't matter how high you make your RWIN.

Just did another tweak test with my rwin, not Jazzman's. And the tweak test was right on. No re-transmissions or sacks sent. Look.:)

I'd suggest using the lowest RWIN that gives you the most consistent speeds. You could up your RWIN to 999999 and you might see a speed improvement but if there's any retransmissions or packet loss anywhere between you and the machine you're communicating with, the 999999 will slow you down.

| I tweaked myself and used Jazzman's tweak to see which one was better. So which one should I use. The larger rwin always has a better tweak test, no re-transmissions.
Jazzman's rwin tweak of 64240 always has tweak test re-transmissions. But Jazzman's tweak is much faster on a speed test to the same site.
What's your opinion. Is the tweak test more important, so use my tweak. Or does speed rule, and use Jazzman's tweak ?
