i use my sprint phone with a cable i bought at radio shack to connect to my mac g3 series powerbook. with sonnett g4 upgrade 512 ram and 60 gig hd. i use a usb mcally card for the hookup since i dont have usb built into laptop.
the driver is built into osx
according to tos you are not allowed to use the phone like this but i have been doing it for almost a year and it does not cost a penny more then my regular billing.
in los angeles i get speeds of 40k to 90k usally surfs the web ok and i use timbukto to connect to my home pc network with no problems.
