|  What happen to my speed in los angeles
I was getting 1.298 down and 215 up now this morning its Your Throughput
Download = 97.03 kbps
Upload = 102.66 kbps
I am in los angeles any one else having trouble i called sbc and did some test they said it was on my side how could it be if this morning i was surfing fine now its slower then a v92 modem.Damn web pages lag and stall. |

Los Angeles, CA | Yes i pulled the power plug from my modem waited 30 sec redone the ppp0e connection ran a new line to another phone jack ran a straight line to the outside wall jack same thing. |

I fixed it some kind of program running the the back ground realsched.exe i ran msconfig unchecked it and my speeds poped back up.I found out its some thing to do with real audio. |

This is exactly why I refuse to install real player trash...err software. It is garbage and I hope it's phased out soon.
Looks like you had the realplayer scheduler running, checking for updates. It may have been downloading an update or doing something else funky.

| am not a progammer...when I look at my task manager in processe's..how can you tell what can be shutdown or not?
There used to be a prgm. I have since upgraded and I didn't reload it.. but it would, give you a display of what was crtical to keep running and what wasn't, allowing you to shutdown background app's that didn't need to run without hanging yourself up and damaging anything....anyone familiar with that?...forgot name sorry..:(
