Ok, i'am gonna try the IE-SpyAd and hope all will be ok, picts show presant setting on IE,nothing in either trusted or RESTRICTED sites,"will advise after install & reboot,"jaz"

When you're done you will see a rather large list of sites in your Restricted Zone. Since you have nothing currently in your Trusted Zone, that will remain the same.

you can't really mess anything up. If for any reason you decide it's not for you, it uninstalls just as easily as double-clicking the ie-ads-uninst.reg file.

if or when you installed IE-SPYAD did you,, have to make a lot of changes on your internet explorer, did you,or WOULD I still be able to go to & use sites,my desktop icons,or would i be limited,(no xxx or adult) as said ONLY spi's i think I am getting are the cookies, from certain "general site,",,"jaz"
IE-SpyAd looks harder to use than it is. Since it adds a long list of spyware and ad sites to your restricted zone, the only thing you should confirm when installing it is that the security slider for the Restricted Zone in IE is all the way up on HIGH!

To install IE-SpyAd, download the kit from the page linked above and open it. Inside is a file name "ie-ads.reg" just double-click on that to let it "merge" all those settings into your registry automatically. That's really it until you want to upgrade it or uninstall it.

Edit: Do be aware that IE-SpyAd provides more than cookie protection. It puts over 6000 known bad sites into IE's Restricted Zone which, with the slider for that zone at High, gives maximum security in IE for those sites. (At High, IE prevents the running of any ActiveX, scripting, Java and other possibly exploitable browser functions. It's "as secure" as IE gets.)

Based on one of his other posts, Jazzy1120 is using Windows 98se with IE 5.5 SP2.
Yeah, that explains it. IE-SpyAd might be a good addition for users of IE5.5 since it covers most of the source sites where these cookies come from.

Agreed I fall into that same category and IE-SPYAD serves me well.

wow thank u so much for the help,

am using ie5.5, and as far as security,Norton firewall, antivirus,& norton system doctor, all updated, don't think there are spi's in the computer, the ones that are detected are "'cookies only"(but did run try that program SPYHUNTER-let it scan, but it showed 1 cookie & 'supposedly"2 spi in or on my registry, but would not remove any one them-uninstalled &deleted all of that,)will look at SpyAd might be a good addition,'take care, jaz'
