If you don't have the 2.05 version of the firmware on the WET54G, I would recommend upgrading the firmware because older version of the firmware do not comply with the final 802.11g standard.
That said, I don't have a WET54G, but I do have a WET11 and it seems very sensitive to where its placed. I've put it in certain positions where it will disconnect all the time even though its link quality is over 90. Move it over a few inches and it becomes stable. Also the position of the antennae is important as well. |

| Well, after resetting it, re-configuring it, i tested around the house again. Finally was able to ping it one room away, but still no signal in the correct room.
So, I tried to upgrade the firmware to 2.05. As expected (mentioned on earlier posts here), the firmware upgrade does not work and it fries the WET54G. Spent the requisite amount of purgatory time with Linksys tech support and not waiting for new one under RMA.
Seems like other people have had problems with firmware upgrades on 54G devices!! Good going, Linksys. |
