[SW Ontario] Cogeco Upgraded Speeds Again?

Well, it's too early to tell, but it seems that cogeco may have upgraded speeds, this is my speedtest, and it has been like this all day:

/speedtests/46···71780575'

I've confirmed the upload speed by uploading to the cogeco ftp at 76 kB/s. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered these speeds as well. I am on the residential package by the way, not Pro.

If Delusive has Pro I ask of him to try his speedtest now he may be surprised...his wish May have been granted?

Also, if some people are not getting these "new speeds"...they might want to reset their modem so the "new?" config file is downloaded

-- Edit: put proper sentence together

-- Before Reset of Modem:

»/speedtests/38···71798951

-- After Reset of Modem:

»/speedtests/46···71799081

this is after reset this happened
right now the speed test is going up and down between 8mbps and 5mbps. Each test shows something in between or all the way up to 8mbps even past up to 9mbps.
Upload however is still slow but hey look at the top download speeds I'm getting!(I've noticed every few speed tests a fast uplaod would show up)

I remember reading somewhere that the speedtest are reliable up to about..6megabits or something like that?

That might account for the varying speedtests

Tyrono2k, try the following speedtests. The Cogeco one is unreliable.

»nyc.speakeasy.net
»bos.speakeasy.net

reliable or not...if I can go and pull down a linux iso at 500k/sec...I know SOMETHING has changed...As they say...speedtests are not the end all and be all

I love how, they don't make a press release, they don't make you wait months, they don't make it a big deal, they just go ahead and do it. Lol, it's great.

Btw, Tyrano2K.. I am very impressed my those speeds.

Wow, really nice speeds!
There was no news of this increase? So Cogeco is confident that their network can handle 8mbit users?

btw, see if you can get a speedtest of 1337 =}
