Well its a shot in the dark, you could but the box then when the tech comes out, he may deny you because that is not a tv, rather a computer LCD attached to a box to convert the signals to your LCD. Or they could be cool about it and just hook it up. Maybe what you could do, is put the LCD with that Viewsonic box in an entertainment center is a spare bedroom so that it is far away from your pc, and they would just thinks its a small tv for that bedroom.

As for this question. The HD box, theoretically should only add $6.99 to that price. But be very prepared for your WOW be to be totally jacked up. My bill is completely fried because of the combination of WOW HDTV service and WOW Ultra internet service. What happens is that WOWs billing system creates the fake/unknown tier call HDTV Digital service(something along that line) and completely separates Ultra from it, when ends up charging you full price($59.99) for ultra internet. WOW has been working on my account for over a week now and still can not figure out why their billing system is retarded, err.. I mean why I can't bind the Digital and Ultra back together and just have an HD in the mix without charging me almost $150. Luckily, there are a few good people who work at WOW that are trying to fix this, and just told me to send in what I paid last month until they figure this thing out. Man I would really hate to see what happens when they release the DVR boxes, my account will probably be disconnected. |

I'm not sure why WOW wouldn't want my money, but I think "disguising" it as a TV would maybe help. Although any tech with half a brain should know that TVs typically don't say "DELL" on the front and have a VGA cable coming off the back.
I'll give them a little time to work out the billing problems and then see what they can do for me about HD. I don't want to go through what I went through with Ultra again.
Thanks for your quick response! |

| Well you can easily stump them, because Dell now sells LCD tvs and what not. Its not really that WOW doesn't want your money, its that your setup would be unique and possibly cause their techs(who don't know that much about HD in the first place just like every other cable tech for any company) more headaches. We know that it should/will work but they don't and may just bail. But yes, wait until Feb or March and then you should be able to walk right up to a payment center and get a box. |
