Connection Pauses

What would cause my internet connection to pause occasionally? I am using RASPPPOE with Zone Alarms firewall. My ISP is alltel.net in North Carolina. I had this problem a year ago when I installed it. I was able to fix it but I recently had to reinstall Windows and I am unable to remember how I fixed the pausing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, and thanks for a great product.

Re: Connection Pauses

Bob Carrick,
Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that I had done something similiar to your response. I had forgotten to mention my OS. It is WinME. Thanks again for a great product and your willingness to distribute it to us (the public).
I will be sure to write the solution down this time.
I hope you have a great holiday season.
