... already received a 4.0 disk will be receiving a disk.

I'm one of the lucky ones that haven't received one yet.:)

The SBC Yahoo software was sent out to give the upgraded version of the Browser and it also gives new functions that were not a part of the previous software(i.e. Pop-up Blocker), basically every SBC Yahoo member who has not already received a 4.0 disk will be receiving a disk.

The Safest thing would be to tie a string to the CD and use it as a Christmas tree ornament.

Re: CD question, yahoo / dsl 4.0

even if you remove prodigy you will probably still get the message cause there is still registry entrys in it, what os are you running if its xp don't worry bout the cd if it isnt follow this cd path: my computer, rt click on your cd rom (with installer cd in it) go to explore, look for a setup folder, inside here your looking for an efficient folder, then a reboot folder, then setup.exe that will install e300 on your system, after reboot create new profile with e300 user: sbcyahooreg@sbcglobal.net pass: sbcyahooreg
finish profile should find server, connect, open ie,got to url: »https://sbcreg.sbcglobal.net and register your account when done change the user and pass in the connection to yours

Usually, they don't just send out a disk (like another ISP provider that I won't mention for the Holidays

Had anyone called in recently on any issue? Because, if in the conversation or troubleshooting, it is mentioned that you don't have your previous CD, a tech might have ordered a replacement CD

If no such call took place, and you have tour previous CDs, then I'm puzzled as to why you received one.

As far as the Prodigy issue, well that happened on the previous CD version as well, if you had it on there, some of the Registry settings conflicted with our software. Removal usually took care of that, or else the install CD wouldn't run

If you have their Version 3 Sbc/Yahoo CD on hand, then no, the new 4.0 does nothing for you

The only consistent reason to have an install CD, is that, IF you had to take your computer case off and install our NIC, the software driver is on there.

If you have Win98/ME/2000, it will have the PPPoE software on there that you need to connect

In both cases, it would be as a reserve in case you have to reformat/wipe out you Windows OS for any reason.

If you have one of the newer computers that came with XP and a Network Card already in it, then

** you can wrap it up as a last second X-mas gift for the kids to play with, as an indoor frisbee if you are at somebody else's house.

If your computer is running fine, any 'upgrades' would be on the Home portal site of SBC-Yahoo
