Usually, they don't just send out a disk (like another ISP provider that I won't mention for the Holidays
Had anyone called in recently on any issue? Because, if in the conversation or troubleshooting, it is mentioned that you don't have your previous CD, a tech might have ordered a replacement CD
If no such call took place, and you have tour previous CDs, then I'm puzzled as to why you received one.
As far as the Prodigy issue, well that happened on the previous CD version as well, if you had it on there, some of the Registry settings conflicted with our software. Removal usually took care of that, or else the install CD wouldn't run
If you have their Version 3 Sbc/Yahoo CD on hand, then no, the new 4.0 does nothing for you
The only consistent reason to have an install CD, is that, IF you had to take your computer case off and install our NIC, the software driver is on there.
If you have Win98/ME/2000, it will have the PPPoE software on there that you need to connect
In both cases, it would be as a reserve in case you have to reformat/wipe out you Windows OS for any reason.
If you have one of the newer computers that came with XP and a Network Card already in it, then
** you can wrap it up as a last second X-mas gift for the kids to play with, as an indoor frisbee if you are at somebody else's house.
If your computer is running fine, any 'upgrades' would be on the Home portal site of SBC-Yahoo |
