RP614 Issue...

Here's whats up..

My RT314 died. Whenever it gets an internet connection, shortly thereafter the thing dies and self reboots. It works great as a stand alone hub now. :/ I e-mailed tech support and now waiting...

So I bought an RP614... Works fine..however..I cannot access certain sites.

Such as, With Yahoo! Mail.. once logged in, I click on Inbox and after a while it will say Server is Unavailable. I get this similar error in the latest IE, Mozzila/Netscape, and opera.

I also receive this same problem when logging into MSN/HotMail.com..

Any thoughts? ideas? help..

Anything is appreciated at this point.

Change the Router MTU to 1440

That should fix it. This bug is well documented.

You'll also probably not be able to do Windows Update either.

I just got a RP614 v2 recently, but I am having a weird problem with it.
My ADSL line quality is pretty bad and certain times, the line would loose the ADSL signal every 10 seconds. And on top of that, the line would drop for up to half an hour.
But, the router seems not able to disconnect and reconnect or refresh the connection after a long period of line drop. I have to go to the router's configuration page under "Router Status" and click "Disconnect" then only would the router reconnect/refresh itself.
How do I automate the process so that I can surf right away after the half hour line drop?
FYI, sometimes, the line drop doesn't take so long, it would be about 10 line drops certain times.

Hmmmm...

If you're running your router as a DHCP client (with a dynamic IP address from your ISP), the unit should pick up a new address each time all by itself. If you're using static, I'm afraid you're screwed (unless you can get your ISP to change you to dynamic). Seems to me that your phone company or ISP should be able to give you better service then you're getting.

Re: RP614 Issue...

Hello,
I am running on dynamic IP adsl service provided by my local ISP. However, the modem is in default settings as the only thing i did to it was add in my DSL login info as well as changing the router's IP from 192.168.1.2. Other than that, everything is left out of the box.

My service is not good, with frequent line drops, whereby the DSL light would blink non stop for a certain amount of time until I guess the router don't know how to respond to it. Should I e-mail netgear regarding this issue?
