Toshiba & Terajet Cable Modem Users

This Questions goes for people who have the Toshiba and Teraject Cable Modems, What speeds do you currently get with either cable modem? And does anyone else have the Toshiba PCX1100U Cable Modem? Reason I for the 1100U because I want to see if people are getting the same speeds as me which is 8018/907 speeds, Thanks for any replies!

that's my fastest for this month w/o tweaking anything. I usually get about 1.03MB/sec - 1.05MB/sec off OOL FTP. I hit 8100/900 every so often. TJ110 - 10/100 - Linux Router - 10/100 - 10/100 switch - iBook

Toshiba PCX1100U Cable Modem via Linksys BEFRS41 Router

2003-12-26 17:31:13 EST: 7676 / 907
Your download speed : 7676118 bps, or 7676 kbps.
A 937 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 907715 bps, or 907 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

If you are going for bragging rights, you won't get it with the PCX-1100u. That modem and the Toshiba PCX-2200 seem to max out around 8600-8800 on Speakeasy and 1.08-1.10 on test64. The Toshiba PCX-2600 is faster, 9200-9400 on Speakeasy and 1.14-1.16 on test64.

In the real world, I don't think it matters. Both can pull a CD image in 10 minutes, give or take a few seconds.

Nah I'm not going around to brag(I'm just glad I have OOL ), Just curious to see what other users get with their Teraject and Toshiba Cable Modems.

I get around 7500 kbps with my Terajet 110 (or whatever it's called). I don't run speed tests very often because there's no real reason to.

When I used my TJ110 on OOL, I would get 1.05 to 1.10 off the OOL Speed Test. Speakeasy showed around 940 UL.
--------
I know you did not ask, but ... when I switched to the SB4200, the OOL Speed Test was about 1.05 to 1.15 and the UL was also about the same.
_________
Bottom line, it is a wash.

Just did a speed test 0.98 MB/Sec. I regularly see 1.05 though on downloads.
All on my Terajet 110

Well it's good to know information but my concern is with the Toshiba and Terajets because I have a 10Mbit WAN Port Router and those are the only cable modems that can get full speeds through my router, I might switch to wireless sometime in the next 3 months and then I'll consider a SB.

There's no good reason to switch from a Toshiba/Terajet to a SB.

Bobcat is correct. Your gain if any will get lost in the dust.

There is no real difference between the three MODEMs. If you keep what you have just get a wireless "G" router and card, and you're all set to go.

Yeah I said I meant I may consider testing out a SB, didn't say I will keep it..Just want to test it out for myself, there's nothing wrong with that since it's free from CV anyway.

ive had pcx2200 ...pcx2600 and now using the optimum voice sbv4200.

from experience
pcx 2200-max out 8500-8800
pcx2600 max out 9000-9400
sbv 9200-9500

bichon coulnt be more right .. well if you have a 10mb wan port router then stick with your toshiba once you change your router or stop switch to a surfboard unless you wanna pay for a toshiba 2600

Bottom line is that there is no real-wold difference between the three MODEMS or the speeds that you got.

i do believe people who have OOL, do more speed tests on it than any other ISP.
as far as i am concerned, as long as i am getting better speed than those unlucky users across the long island border into queens/ny, i am happy.
TWC speed sucks.

But TWC/Road Runner is reliable, 3Mbps/384kbps is all that bad...

I didn't know that your router could cache, how do you clear it out? I got a Linksys BEFRS41 Router
