Can access WAP but not the internet.

Hello all, I recently installed a Linksys WAP54G access point and a Linksys wireless networking card. I had the computer running with internet connectivity for a while but it suddenly lost the connection and I can not get it back. If I enter the WAP's ip number it will connect to it and I can change the settings on it, etc. However it just will not let me back onto the internet. I have a feeling I have some setting messed up in windows. I'm running Windows ME on the computer with the wireless network card. I assigned it an IP address that no other computers on my wired network have, and I entered the correct subnet address. Any advice would be great. Thank you - Aaron

Re: Can access WAP but not the internet.

Sounds vague. Where did you connect this WAG54, is it connected to the Router which in turn connected to the Cable/DSL modem?

If so, check if there is any network mismatch with regard to the IP address between Router and Access Point?

Check if the Wireless Computers which can connect to the AP, can also connect to the Router?

This happens to me sometimes and it is often because my internet explorer settings changed away from dhcp/obtain an ip automatically. There are programs you may have that make themselves a proxy and this can screw you up. Sometimes Zone alarm can do it too.
