 Official Speed Tests Thread

Post some speedtests of your fiber connection.

State your advertised (or estimate if you don't know) bandwidth and where you use it at, your service provider (if avail.), and some computer specs might be cool also -- type/speed of NIC, processor, etc.

You can use any speedtest you want as long as it's accurate (the test file used is already compressed).

You can also try downloading this file from the OOL FTP:
»ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64

Punch 8.192 * the KB/s you got to get your kbps.

Let's keep it clean, please .

3) Provider is Comcast
4) Computer specs, 2.2ghz AMD, 1.5gb DDR, 300GB Harddrive, Dual 802.11b wireless nics

This is fast for me... dual cable modems. You l33t fiber optic guys should get a good laugh.

This is my office. It's my win2000 server located at the new york exchange point. it's connected by a 100mbit ethernet port, then whatever godly connections they run.
It's fun to lag other websites. My speeds range from 85mbps to 12mbps in these tests. I test downloaded a service pack from microsoft.com at 3.59mb/sec. my provider is »www.choopa.com/

Im sure most people who gonna post, is going to have there speeds in the MB, so its best to use 8192 instead of 8.192 (yea, same numbers just diff decimal location)

Lets see these fiber results!! (i dont mean upgraded fiber, for catv)

lol none of them "came up" but you can still tell the speed by looking at the numbers in the address bar.

»www.atl.speakeasy.net is my speedtest of choice.

I have FTTH through a PON system. I live in a condo complex so we have the MDU setup. My ISP is less than two years old and plans to double those speeds in the near future. I pay $80/month for telephone, CATV, and internet.
