1 edit | reply to janderso1 This is an old system. It is a k62-300 w/ 128MB ram. Yes, the mobo is a POS, and yes the person who "owns" it doesn;t want to spend any amt. of $$$ fixing it. This comp. was/is still soo fuked up lol. -- If they give you ruled paper, write the other way. -Juan Ramon Jimenez Lightpath introduces the Goldenrebever;) (Seti is dead, Project Phoenix is alive now, Big Brother is watching)

| reply to MikegotOOL Ok, what do you have? Is it a new system that you are trying to dual boot to 98? The Dell laptop that I am using doesnt have PS2 or serial ports, but its bios makes the mouse look like a PS2 to DOS mouse drivers. So if it is a new motherboard, it is most likely a BIOS setup/BIOS problem. -- Jim Anderson |

Anyway, If you DLed Intellipoint 5 mouse drivers they are the worst you need 4.1 or 4.12.
Here's a link for 4.12

| reply to MikegotOOL Why do you want to use a USB mouse with 98? Your computer should have a PS2 port and most USB mouse devices have a USB to PS2 adapter. If you need to make it work try turning on/off USB legacy support in your BIOS. -- Jim Anderson |

| I have a microsoft mouse and a PCI to USB (Opti) adapter. The adapter installs fine, but it recognizes the mouse as an unknow usb device. I have tried DL'ing the Microsoft fix for it to no avail. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, several times, and it still says code 10 "unknow usb device". Why oh why does it not recognize the mouse? -- If they give you ruled paper, write the other way. -Juan Ramon Jimenez Lightpath introduces the Goldenrebever;)(Seti is dead, Project Phoenix is alive now, Big Brother is watching) |
