| AdSubtract Test Booooooooooooooo!!!
Good thing I didn't dish money out on this and went the "may I borrow" route to see if it works.
Well, it failed, just as bad as WebWasher.
Want to do the test yourself? And I would be curious to see what the AS folks think about this, well, the one I usually test it with is {IM me} BE CAREFUL VERY EXPLICIT STUFF HERE!!!!!!!
Pop up window WILL go through AS and it will leave a {IM me} cookie also. -- Help us find a cure for Cancer!

| I just tried that site using Popki and Cookie Pal. No popups made it through and no cookie left on my machine. You can see popki here; »ranfo.com/software.html It's free. Amazingly, the site did not leave any cookies nor create pop-ups. Webwasher on my side worked. |

 ethics$Premium join:2000-12-27 Brooklyn, NY | reply to Zhen-Xjell I think I may know what's up with WW.
See, when I enter the p0rn sites, my Web Washer just stops working. CTL-ALT-DEL shows it as "Not Responding"
I uninstalled, re-installed it and the same result.
End result is that it's horrid with that site (among others). If it can't block it, it won't work for me.
AdSubtract is doing the same thing though. I need to find out why and if I can't I need something that is 100% proof. -- Folding can save a life!

 | i have a pretty good solution - i use norton firewall to filter the cookies and webwasher to block popups and filter advertisements. the combination seems to work pretty well for IE 5.5. -- [enter witty message here] |

| Yes I've tried cookiewall, but cookiepal works better for me. One of the reason's I like Cookie Pal better is CookieWall needs to ask for the same cookie with different extensions attached to it. For example; hitbox.com (hg1) hitbox.com (w128) hitbox.com (w131), etc.
Cookie Pal knows the first time you reject hitbox you don't want it period. -- Help Us Find The Cure! DSL Reports Team Helix |

| Yes, that is correct. CookieWall lets "temporary" cookies be written into the /Cookies folder. It keeps a list of these cookies and it asks you on reboot if you STILL want to keep these. You must decide to: a) defer the decision until later, b) Always Accept this cookie, c) Always Delete this cookie.
There is a flaw in that if you choose "Always Delete" on reboot, the cookie is added to the Always Delete list -- however (and this is a BIG however), it DOES NOT remove the pre-existing 'temporary' cookie from your /Cookie folder!!
This is a glitch, but if you are aware of it, it is not a 'program killer'. Cookie Wall is not perfect, but it has some very good points and it is free... ______________

R2R NotPremium,MVM join:2000-09-18 Long Beach, CA kudos:1 | If you don't want cookies or cookie warning pop-ups, then you should disable all cookies in the Internet Zone and only accept them in your Trusted Sites.
I have another reason for liking the way CookieWall works. If you select "Always Delete", it keeps a list for you of all the sites that tried to dump a cookie on you. I go through that list intermittently and add some of those sites to my Hosts file... |
