I know there was an issue with RCA's taking about 16 years to get synch after trying to download the Terayon Firmware. I was not aware the SB had issues but then again...what do i know?

then what could possibly be causing the update failure in the logs? and they show almost every 10-15 minutes which is why i think it has something to do with the rebooting. i wish i could have gotten a screenshot of it. it was definatly not the normal looking log.

If the Firmware does not fit, the Modem should not quit!

ok here's the situation. service call today. no block sync right. well i get there and it's a SB4101. look at it and watch it reboot every 10 minutes. levels are good, forward and reverse. S/N is decent. so i checked out the logs on it and it was trying to receive an update. my guess is the TJ715 firmware update. it had the residential config in it.

now here's my question. 2 weeks ago we swapped out a RCA POS. don't know the exact reason why it was swapped. now today we swap it out for a hmmm TJ715 (all i had on the truck) is it possible that these 2 modems were constantly trying to receive a firmware update for the 715 and causing the modem to drop out? i watched the 715 for almost 45 minutes and it didn't drop so i'm crossing my fingers. i'm just wondering if this customer will keep experiencing this or if it's not possible. thanks for any info you can give.

PS sorry i have no MAC's to give.
