I didn't say that BPL required fiber. I'm saying that while 5GHz BPL is a nice idea, I think that it's just a patch, and that fiber is the real solution to the problem.

Long Beach, NY		 I believe that the point he is making is that so much was invested in fiber as a means of high speed digital communication, but it is seldom mentioned anymore.
