Some Questions

I am a Junior computer science student and live in a very rural area of Virginia. I do a lot of telnet to my school's server, so I need a low latency connection. Being a rural area, my only option has been dial up. I found out today that Adelphia is now offering its PowerLink service to my area. Yippee!!! My questions is does Adelphia, or cable companies in general, charge for running cable to your house? I mean, out here, people's driveways are fairly long. Mine is 1/4 mile long:) and its an average length driveway. Does the customer foot the bill for the cable laying, or does the Cable Company just absorb this cost as part of doing business in a rural area? Anyone else out there been involved in a similar situation?
All help, ideas, thoughts, concerns is appreciated.

i would imagine you would have to pay for some if not all of it. in our system we foot the 1st 250' then it's in the customers wallet.

i would call your local office and ask specifically. They deal with it daily so they should theoretically know.

Yeah, I've been trying all day to get in touch with them, but their phone has been busy all day. Thought I'd try on here to see if there was some sort of industry standard that companies try to follow.
Thanks for the replies,
