Verizon has a contract with Telocity - They limit you to 640/90k. Your account was canceled since they believe you can't receive DSL anymore and your profile is wasting space.

Just one question, you are posting via a PacBell (ILEC) line in Verizon territory?

Don't think of it as you're fired - It's a 100% tax cut.

@pacbell.n

I started out with Phoenixdsl, was switched to MegaPath, and then finally to Teleocity. A few months later Northpoint went bankrupt, and Teleocity informed me that my dsl would be down for 6-8 weeks (starting in late March). They also said that I'd get a free month of service when the dsl was back. In late April I called Telocity for a status update, and after about 20 minutes on hold I was told that *I* cancelled my account. When I told them that I didn't cancel my account, they said that there was no way to restore the old account and that I'd have to sign up as a new customer.

But, when I tried to sign up, Telocity told me that they do not have an agreement with my local telco (Verizon) so there is no way that they can offer me any dsl service. Instead, they suggested that I use their Hughes DirecTV satellite service!!

So, I'm giving up on Telocity and trying a local dsl provider (who uses Verizon) called ExtremeDSL. Unfortunately the price is higher ($50 per month) and the speed is lower (especially the upstream, which used to be 600+) with the old S-DSL.

Anyway, my new install date is June 14th. We'll see...
