How to tweak Mac OS X Panther?

1.»monitor.dslreports.com/tweak/blo···terpppoe

2.»/speedtests/12···73574999

3. Line quiality test never finishes.

4. I am using residential ADSL

5. PPPoE

6. Not using any PPPoE software besides macintosh's default, but I would like to know of some good software for mac.

7. I am using Macintosh OS X Panther 10.3.2

8. Advertised speed is 1500 Down / 256 Up

9. My PowerBook is running through a Linksys router and I do share my connection.

10. I am using a Linksys BEFW11S4 - Version 4 Router

11. It didn't tell me how far I was from the central office

Basically the reason for this post is that I would like to tell me some settings for my mac internet settings. I want it to be faster, especially the upload. Please reply to this post or IM me. Ohh, please tell me how to become pingable. I have already tried going into the router setup and disabled WAN request block. Thank you, and everyone have a great year.

The Mac folks can help you better than we can. Post in the Mac forum ( »All Things Macintosh ) and point them back to here.

He wants to know how to set the Linky to make himself pingable, because the tweak tester advised that, I guess.
.
He needs to know if that router can handle his PPPoE, and that he does not need to turn on Mac OS X's internal PPPoE or use a PPPoE program if the router can handle it.

Then he can use the tweak tests to (possibly) tweak his speeds.

I don't have a LinkSys, but perhaps there is a PPPoE issue with them. Usually on the Mac we just set MTU to 1492 and go, although with extremely fast cable some change in the receive window can help.

RealNetworks and H-P are going AAC. Watching the rest of them trample each other getting to Jobs' office is going to be entertaining.
