| How I see People ideas
I thought the following, some of which I posted in the main thread, should be pulled out for consideration (and in case they got over looked).
I know the feature is new, but I think the following might provide additional or enhanced functionality.
1) Allow all labels to work like the conditional host label enclosed in squiggly brackets. It would, for example, prevent a HR tag from being displayed for all entries and only if someone had a review if I wanted to separate reviews with a HR tag.
2) Remove the bullet between the icon and the company name for reviews. It's not necessary. & middot; is what is displayed when I view source.
3) Add a tag or something that would define the "short post" point. It would identify what would be displayed for short posts (before this tag) and what would be dropped (after this tag).
4) Ordering of the reviews as outlined at »Order of Reviews Displayed
5) For all, or through a different tag, minimize the number of reviews shown for an individual based on count or date. I don't think all these reviews we now see show if you use the default, and seeing old (2001) reviews for someone that hasn't had the service for 3 years since they switched to another provider seems irrelevant to me. I'm interested in the current (be it based on the most recent or by date) providers for broadband, VOIP and hosting, but not every one the individual ever reviewed.
Any other suggestions are welcomed. -- Have you tweaked your OOL connection? |

| Another thing I would also like seeing.
Before when I wanted to visit a person's page (user page), I would click their avatar, cause naturally, it's the biggest clickable thing. Now, I can only click the name.
Is there a way to incorporate a new variable so that whatever's behind it is linked to the user's page? thanks -- My Photos -- Find ET ... SETI@Home Find Cancer Cure ... Team Discovery Save Earth ... Team Ecology |

| reply to GeekNJ I think all of the above would be nice additions if easily added. A few things of my own I'd like to see:
1) The ability to just display the user's current ISP, like the default view does, rather than all their reviews of anything.
2) A way to see some of the other things the old view showed, preferably with a conditional label so the line(s) doesn't show if they're not present (Former Mod, Just Joined, First Post, etc.) -- Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? 1 edit | IMO, i think there's already enough numbers on the side. this is me hinting that adding more numbers is just another excuse to rank people.
edit: and how about leaving the avatars as they were (i hate how they get re-sized by the browser or whatever you claim is doing it)? -- ====jöîñ tËåm ÐöVË®¥==== // d i g i t a l l y · i m p o r t e d \\ |

*sign* The resizing makes things look kind of ugly - a lot of avatars just look off-kilter, and who wants to see that all over the page?
But if there is some really good reason why they all have to be the same size... why not make that size 40x50? That way the tall avatars can stay tall; shorter avatars can be adjusted to still look shorter by adding a few pixels of transparency at the top or bottom; and the ones that are resized will usually look better being extra tall and thin as opposed to extra short and squat. -- Got an idle CPU? I *SIGN* for these three requests as in your origninal post:

| reply to GeekNJ It looks like a bunch of these ideas were added, from what I can see so far:
1) All of the labels now seem to be conditional (you can use the {} and they only show up if there's information present. It does cause some strange spacing issues for me with blank lines showing up but I'm still playing around with a new config.)
2) There's a second date format - %J as requested in the other thread (weekday Month Day Year)
3) There's an option to show only the latest review - %R
4) You can specify what information to show in short posts by placing -cut- above anything you don't want to show.
Thanks Justin -- Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? Pinky: I think so, Brain, but "Snowball for Windows"? |

| reply to GeekNJ You can do some interesting things with the conditional tags { }. As an example, the following will not show a blank line in the info if the user doesn't have a posting tag:
%a3<b>%u</b><small>%f{<br>}<br>%t<br> Posts: %p<BR>%l{Loc: }-cut- <BR>Joined: %j<BR>Last: %o<br> %h{<hr>Host of:<br>}%r{<hr>}</small>
putting the br tag inside the conditional brackets after the %f pulls the posts up to the user name if there's no posting tag. That is only helpful if you don't care that the next line of the info moves up as well.

| reply to GeekNJ One last tweak would be the %R show the last Broadband review BUT add the last VOIP review and the last web hosting review too vs just the last overall review. -- Have you tweaked your OOL connection? |
