| Quick question... or three
I see people who fold on more than one computer. I have more than one system that I can run. Can I run them all at once? Do I use the same name for them all? will they all add up together for one final score?
Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I'm still fairly new around here. |

Yes, you can run them all at once. Use the exact same username configuration in each, the system will produce unique ID's for each machine, and they will all combine into one point total!
Did that make sense???!!
Thanks-- -Matt |

| reply to Sheesh WOW kewl. think I just figured out a good use for all those junk systems I have taking up space in my garage. Bet I could build 4 or 5 systems that could do nothing by sit there and fold.
Hmmm.... that could prove to be dangerous out here with all the rolling black outs. but WTF. Its for a damn good cause.
Ha know what I'm gonna be doin' this weekend. -- Yea ah did it, whatcha gonna do about it? |

Just keep the 72-hour return window in mind when you build your boxes! The slower ones make excellent Genome rigs.

Er just to check, but the id number doesn't have to be different does it?
Reason am asking is cos when I set up my machines folding for dsl I just copied the id number from the text config file of one machine to the config file of the other, so they are the same. (i had to do it manually cos it was insisting on keeping the old team and id number, despite a re-install).
I think it's all adding to my total....will have to pay more attention to my stats, am going to check it out now. |

The userid= entry should be different for all clients and you should not edit this field! The only allowed manual editing is setting userid=0 which will assign a new userid on the next program start. If the clients are not all behind one NAT or whatever (same IP address), then you might be lucky and folding might work even with the same userid, but better play it safe. The email= entry can and should of course be the same, i.e. Snapshot2 (DSL Reports Team Helix) or something like this (didn't check which username you use). Hope this helps, Jerome |
