Google Toolbar or use MyIE2 (basically a skin for IE)
Search the BBR/DSL Reports Security forum for Popup Blockers. |

I'll make a really fantastic pop-up blocker for you, for $1 billion. (Hey, "money is no object"...) The best pop-up blocker, bar none, is Ad Muncher. Yes, it's even better than Google Toolbar (and it works with any browser as well). * Edit: The Ad Muncher tray icon is optional. |

For just blocking popups in Internet Explorer I like the free version of Pop This! best. And that is mostly due to the fact that it doesn't stuff a icon down in the tray or add a toolbar. Just do it and shut up, I say. Bottom line for me is: operate quietly and efficiently. I would, however, NEVER recommend AdsGone as it is most definitely spyware in my opinion. As to why I think that, see here:» AdsGone popup stopper spying?Of course if you wanted to use Firebirdyou could block popups and banner ads all within the browser without any secondary applications. I use Firebird 90% of the time and this works very well. See Lanik 's post HERE on blocking banner ads with Firebird. |

Been using it since 3.0 last year and I think it's the best one out there because of that. |

I use the last version of Proxomitron. Some people shy away from proxo because they read that there is a steep learning curve. That depends on what you want to do with the program. For me, there was no learning curve at all to make it work better(in my opinion) than any other banner, popup, and content ad blocker. I installed Proxo, and JD's latest extra config file, and haven't touched it since. I forget its even there!

Not popular to mention Symantec products these days, but NIS has excellent ad and popup control. |

I agree with scodan.
Ad Muncher is the best Ad blocker program that I have tried. It works on all of my browsers and catches more ads than any free program that I tried.
The IP Scramble appears to work and it doesn't slow my system down as much as I expected.
Ad Muncher is definitely worth checking out. |

Another vote for Pop This. Small footprint and unobtrusive. |

I'll third that. I rarely get unrequested pop-ups in MyIE2. (And the few times I have, I just add them to the filter and they're gone for good.) |
