@aol.com | I've just found why it's not working
Your password must be 8 characters or less |

| If when you click connect the box just disappears it means you do not have the connection in network/dial up connections.
Right I managed to remove my OLD connection and make a new.
Sorry again this is for the Voyager but it *may* work for others.
In Network conections create a NEW connection
Choose connect to internet
Choose manually
Choose DIAL UP - yes i know... weird ^ ^
Then it asks you for your ISP name Here you can enter whatever you want, but if you wish to be able to click the arrows to get it to work then YOU MUST call it: BT Voyager ADSL Modem
Then it will ask you for a phone number ENTER NOTHING just choose next.
Now you will be prompted for your username//password, your username is your screenname with @aol.com. So basically it is your e-mail address. I believe it is CASE SENSITIVE.
example coolnogayol@aol.com
Same deal with your password, it's the one you use to sign in with aol every day. This could also be case sensitive.
I wouldn't choose to make it your default connection yet. If this doesn't work you could do with aol...
Now the connection is made but NOT set up.
It should load up the connect screen, but you're not ready yet.
Click properties.
Under connect using your dsl modem should be their. But it might say IDSN channel before the name that is OK.
Click configure next to connect using.
It should be using 64k digital line and negotiate line type should be clicked.
Now close that pop-up and move onto options (the second tab)
De-check prompt for phone number And make the idle time after hanging up set to never (so you don't get kicked off for doing nothing.
X.25 button should have none for network and no other details filled in.
Go to networking tab (4th)
Server type should be PPP windows 95/98/Nt 4/2000 click settings next to this
De-check all but enable LCP extensions (first box)
Right now I would re-start.
Click OK and CONNECT
You an also set up internet sharing, but I am not going into that as thats another long post.
And again can SOMEONE STICKY THIS!!!! |
