alright
first of all Wmexe is a process that is for US robotics products, I assume that you have a US robotics device installed on ur system.

This is what i would do in your situation:

.)Uninstall RASPPPOE
.)now restart
.)go in the properties tab of the network and delete every single thing u see in there.
.)now restart
.)Then install the dial up networking by going to the add windows component wizard make sure to use ur "windows 98 cd" when it asks u for files, don't just type the pathname.
.)Let the installation complete and then restart.
.)Install RASPPPOE and restart.
.)It should work fine now.

The only problem that could be is the drivers from the old network card u had. Those could be confliciting with the card you put in now.

Anyways, hope that works.

Did what you suggested. Now when I run RASPPPOE, I get Tapisrv error has occurred. TAPISRV caused a GPF in module WAN.TSP. After I close that, "No Dial-Up Devices Found" shows up.

I think I'm going to move on to another computer.

Well, I finally got it running on the DeskPro. The problem turned out to be something funky with either the second network card or its drivers. I started with a clean hard drive, installed 98 with no peripheral cards, then put in the network card for my DSL modem and got RASPPPoE functional. When I added the second network card, installing its drivers turned into endless requests for the RASPPPoE drivers and network card drivers. Something wasn't cooperating. I grabbed another network card I had laying around, its drivers installed and I'm back in business.

FYI, I had removed the second network card during my previous attempts but I'm sure its drivers were still lurking.
