Actually, I use Ad Aware Pro, Spybot, & Spy Sweeper. I run Ad Aware first, spybot second, & then Spysweeper. One program catches what the other program doesn't catch.

Re: Support is the real issue

I appear to be like a lot people and I use Ad-aware, Spy-bot and Spyware Blaster, with Popup Cop and all 3 of my computers have ZERO pops or other nasty-ware.

But I agree with lilhurricane... What is more important is which product do you support financially! Because some of the best programs like Spybot and Spyware Blaster are worth their weight in gold.

I supported both products because they changed the way I surf internet (being that 90% of all internet ads are from your own hard drive). And Popup cop and Ad-aware keep new ones from coming.

And both Spybot and Spyware Blaster offer free updates to keep them current. I am not affiliated with either company but I know that it takes time and resources to keep them both bug free and current.

So supporting these companies helps so they can afford to keep beating those sneaky, never-sleeping, bad guys.

Why did Adaware only want you to pay and not the rest of us? Been using it free all this time!

ad-aware is good but the only draw back i found was that on certain adware it didnt remove all the spyware witch removed access from the internet. i backup what i removed and reinstalled it and i was back up. found spybot and ran it worked like a charm. spybot isn't perfect by all means but no program is but spy bot is damn close. i run both on my comp still adware 6 plus and spybot 1.3 beta 4 ( witch kicks ass )

Heck, both of them do a good job. What I do is run ad-aware first then spybot to double check.

I run them both as well.

I use both Adaware and Spybot. They are both pretty good but Spybot just better since you have the ability to block things from ever getting on you pc. Plus Spybot seems to find more stuff anyway.

spybot alone is suck. I had experienced first hand with a number of systems at work. I ran spybot first and it does it it supposed to do. However, there are a fw that it failed to detect and remove so I ran adaware as well and it completely remove every spyware on the system. Bottom line, spybot is good but not good enough. Run both to be safe.

I second that. I use AdAware first, and then SpybotKiller. Spybotkiller frequently finds stuff that Adaware didn't.

It even found some Gator related stuff that Adaware didn't, which is strange because Adaware usually does a good job of rooting out Gator...

Just installed the SpywareBlaster. Thanks guys, for the ideas.

I agree about using both. I use both and I never have any problems. I also am using SpywareBlaster. In the past 2 years, the only spyware with which I've had to contend was the lop.com hijacker, but Ad-Aware killed it. I'm very careful now to update definitions at least weekly now on all three products.

I think it was Maximum PC that said that Spybot removed a few more "spyware" apps than adaware. Notice a said a few and not "a heck of a lot more" like the previous poster. I believe this is due to spybot having more updates put out than adaware. That said I use both.

I use SPYBOT & ADWARE they both work good for me.

Same here...both.

I use adaware, but I also have a NAT firewall and sygate, running on all PC's, and then I use DSL broadband security checks and pcaudit to make sure I am suecure...With this setup I have reduced my miner and data tracks hits to maybe 20 a week and registry hits to zero (fingers crossed) Then Norton watches for virus's....I feel secure but am I???
