Lighthouse, thanks for your response, but I'm afraid I have no idea how to do the things you suggested. Do you have simpler language for a noob?

Well, OK. First go to a command prompt and type "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" (without the quotes). the x's are the ip address of the router. Then, go to a command prompt again and type "ipconfig /all" (without the quotes). Take a screen shot and post it to the forum so we can see what you have.
