Cool Edit Pro Help Please!!!

Cool edit won't play any of my files. I get the following error message:

Output Device Error
the specified format is not supported or cannot be translated. Use the capabilities function to determine the supported formats.

I can see the wave forms but it won't play.

Thank you.

Also make sure Cool Edit is set to output in 48000Hz 16 bit stereo, not anything higher (unless you know your soundcard supports higher playback samplerates and bit depths).
