If the dsl companies push too hard,

the cable companies will soon all have speeds like OOL. . I think we have seen a lot of progress in the US Broadband market in the past 6 months. Maybe in 5 years we will have reached the QoS that Japan has now.

No doubt, OOL has got the speed, but many users have complained of getting capped when actually trying to use their connection.

It's weird how these article's never mention OOL and the speed for the price. Also I wonder how the competitive pricing will be once the other companies catch up to OOL.

You can may be able to buy the 6 mbps plan soon. Afterwards, you can order it and they can cap you at 3mbps if you're too far out.

OK, I'll bite: what's OOL? Everyone but me seems to know who/what they are.

Re: If the dsl companies push too hard,

Optimum Online. Cable internet service in the Northeast (mostly NY state?) that offers ~10 megabit service for 40ish a month. Some complain that they exercise too many restrictions on what you can do with your connection regarding servers and other things.

Re: If the dsl companies push too hard,

ahhh ... thank you. I know of the company but failed to make the OOL-acronym leap. Nice tagline, BTW.
