Anyone know if I can set up my 3010 for use under W2k pro?? If so, can you point me to directions?? Thanks. |

| reply to psycaz W2k installed drivers for it as a miniport 3010. I can't figure out how to setup the connection. Tried using the WinNT config items from the original setup cd for the 3010. No luck. Will I have to call Ameritech and request to have my equipment changed to a 3060? Any thought on what speech I need to give to make sure I don't get a USB modem? Thanks again. |

Sorry. Actually, I'd bet someone here has a 3060 they may be willing to part with if it comes to that. |

| reply to psycaz If your going to have your modem replace request the Westell or you can also find them cheap on Ebay. The Westell doesn't need drivers and works well with Win2k. You will have to get a NIC with the Westell. NICs are cheap, about 15 bucks for a half way decent one. -- It's a NIC, not a NIC card! |

| reply to psycaz Hi Psycaz
The 3010 works very well with the Windows 2000 native drivers. The trick is setting it up. I have emailed you the Word document that shows how to do the setup (that I got from Ron Hands). However, where it has you enter the VPI/VCI of 0*101, it should be 0*105. Also, where it tells you to enter a phone number of 40 zeros, there is only room for 37. The trick here is to enter 37 zeros and finish the setup. Then right click on the dial up connection you created and bring up properties. Click on Alternates by phone number and edit. Now you can fill in the rest of the 40 zeros. If you have any more questions, either email or IM me.
I have also tried the native drivers in Windows ME, but I get very slow download speeds in ME (my guess is a bad registry setting, but I dont have a clue as to how to fix it). You also need a patch for the ME ATM driver.
Normally, I use a DSL modem/router combinations instead of the 3010 for better security and so I dont have to leave the computer with the 3010 on.

Can you put this with the other driver information so that it is available to others who made need it? -- Jim Anderson |
