And it's moves like this that makes me think that the antitrust laws on this country are really farked.
A software company gets the primary OS market share, and the dept. of justice is on their ass and doing itemized audits.
A processor company pulls schemes to force companies into contracts that won't let them buy processors from competing manufacturers, and it's somehow still "business as usual."
I'm sorry, but I hate the current x86 laptop scene. it's too f*cking bland, and outside of the wonder that is eMachines' current A64 laptop, every laptop in the under-$2k market sucked horribly (in some form of spec or another). The specs on the a64 laptop currently there (even if you were to use any other processor) simply could not have been duplicated previously except in machines costing almost $3000 (and in some cases, a comparably equipped Intel laptop is still above that).
AMD finally gets an opportunity to give the market a kick in the pants, and ShitGateway wants to cut off their balls entry by buying out the only company with the guts to put them out. -- VIA sux 3K club GC online |

| My vote was that Gateway has a real personal problem with AMD... probably some bad blood with the two.
Hmm, perhaps we should schedule a BBQ session and slaughter their cow for the meal. |
