Connection got very very very slow for about an hour from about ~8:30p - ~8:45p. Then all of a sudden went back to normal. Not sure if it is because of upgrade or not? Upload is there but d/l is still same.

Just wondering if this is the upgrade effect or if anyone else was experiencing any probs.

| Just had same thing happen tonight. Was from 7pm until 11:20pm. It's like my download is set0 to nothing. Upload is fine. I am able to send emails but can't receive. Is there some work going on? This started to happen after my upload was raised.
Now I'm getting

Mine is due to be upgraded 2/9 and no change to my upload yet  I won't hold my breath, but I'll probably IM Beach Boy Monday afternoon if no signs of change by then

My connection is getting worse. Was out from about 6pm until 12:30am. I can't power cycle my modem any longer otherwise my connection goes out. Have sync but do download speed to surf. Spend about an hour or so with tier1 last night and got a trouble ticket. ASI called this morning but didn't see problems with my line like there was last night. All this started happening after my upload increased.
Anyone else having any problems like this?
Getting speeds like 40bps/512 yes that is bits per sec...

Have the experts on the case. Beach Boy and ASI saw my line last night at around 5:30 when connection died. Opened up another ticket with telco since I'm on RT so hopefully everything will be fixed today.

Thought problem was fixed after tech was out yesterday and repaired a "pair". Forget exactly what it was but it was in the NID. Around 7pm last night the problem was back. So called ASI again and they are sending out a DSL tech this afternoon. We'll see what he finds out. Since I'm on RT ASI can't see my specs at all so tech is brinnging out a tool to do reading on my line. ASI tech pinged my router and found 98-99% loss which he said that wasn't good. That 1-2% can cause major problems.
Well at least I get a half day off work out of this deal..;)

ASI Tech got here around 4 and stayed until around 6:30. Looked at all of the wiring in the house and the jack that works was getting half of what the NID was showing. So he did something with the wires and now the NID and jack sync up. But now the upload is suffering a loss of speed. The d/l is not right either but not having problem like before. At least not yet. Telco is going to do something at RT either tonight or tomorrow. More than likely tomorrow. They are going to replace the card or move it. May also do a vendor meet if what telco does doesn't work. So we'll see what happens tomorrow. At least I can surf tonight. I think ASI office did something to keep the d/l a little steady until problem is fixed.

Update. Telco rebooted my card in RT and still same results. But download is still hanging around 2m. Upload is stuck on 77k. Had a message from ASI on voice mail and called them back to let them know still no change. So they are doing a vendor meet on Monday morning at my place. ASI guy said that they are probably going to put card in a different port and that should fix it. Know my line can handle the speed. Synced up at 8129 on the Sunrise. That thing is cool. Said it is about 7k though. So looks like Monday I'll be fixed I hope. Just glad my download stable so I can surf. So let you all know what happens on Monday.
So get to work from home Monday. Love working in pj's.:)

I was "scheduled" to be upgraded on 2/9. Recently i have been running speed test on my line to see if the new expert plus package is being turned on. It has been almost 2 weeks and no speed increase but my uploads are higher then normal. SBC claims it is on and working. Whenever I ran a speed test, it is slower then before my "scheduled upgrade" They told me they ran a speed test and it showed the same thing over and over again..... but i spoke to someone else and the supervisor told me to run a SBC speed test on their site and same old results. didn't come near what they say it should be.................. anybody having the same problems. |

Problem fixed. Turned out to be that the jack I was using was not handeling the DSL very well so tech hooked up a new line and put in a NID splitter inside. Now getting full speeds.:)

DSL12steps  : I think it's holding up. Still showing Download = 5.062 Mbps Upload = 515.06 kbps since you left. Really like this new modem 5100b. Has some cool features. So sorry to say that I think it was the Westell.:( Thanks for coming back so fast! I was suprised to see truck sitting in driveway when I got back.
